作品介紹
《The Apocalypse of Darkness Warfare》takes as backdrop the September 21, 1999 earthquake that shook Taiwan. The introduction of local deity Ma Zu, a.k.a. Lin Mo-Niang, adds another dimension to the work. After the earthquake devastates Nantou in central Taiwan, demons begin to wreak havoc in the terrestrial realm, leading the police to set up “Project Blackout” to eliminate them. One day, a terrible monster appears in the fashionable Ximending neighborhood of Taipei. The police team up with gifted teenage magician Chen Po-Jung to behead the beast and banish its evil spirit. In the process, Po-Jung runs into high-school girl Lin Mo-Niang, who bears the name of a deity worshipped by many in temples around Taiwan. Po-Jung takes the pretty Lin under his wing only to discover that unrest in the underworld and her sudden appearance have a surprising hidden connection… Unlike the majority of long-form comics in Taiwan, which are usually first serialized in magazines before being collected into books, The Apocalypse of Darkness Warfare is an exception to this rule, and is the first series to feature more than five volumes. In support of this popular series, the publisher entered into a partnership with the Ximen Street Pedestrian Mall Development Committee to have Ma Zu adopted as the mascot of Ximen Street. More, the Japanese e-book publisher Renta! is currently publishing a Japanese translation online, making it the first Taiwanese comic to be published electronically in Japan.

作品介紹
The year is 1929. The Republic of China, in its 18th year of existence, has just established its capital in Nanjing, but large swaths of the nation are still ruled by warlords and foreign powers maintaining their own strongholds. It’s a time of excitement, transformation, and chaos. In Shanghai, the financial and cultural hub of the Republic, “modern” young women and men in Western-style clothes head to movie theaters, dance halls, and coffee shops, and new trends ripple across the nation. Beyond the splendor, however, a dark side exists: tensions between the Chinese administrators and their foreign counterparts threaten to boil over, criminal gangs compete for control of the still-thriving opium trade, and those seduced by the phantoms of money and power sometimes pay the ultimate price. This is the landscape in which Shanghai Junior takes place. Angelina Fan is coming to terms with the murder of her loving father, the latest casualty of the opium trade. The police commissioner, trying to solve a high-profile murder in the French Concession, calls in brave young bounty hunter Tony Shine. Brought together by fate, Angelina and Tony find themselves immersed in the adventure of a lifetime…and in mortal danger.
